A CRASBO was granted to a 19-year-old man from Old Trafford on August 17 for spraying graffiti at Altrincham Interchange.

Jonathan Cartwright received the two year Criminal Antisocial Behaviour Order at Trafford Magistrates Court.

The conditions prevent him from possessing spray paint or permanent marker in the Greater Manchester area, unless it is to be used for legitimate street art and he has documentation saying so.

He is also banned from writing graffiti on property without the permission of the owner.

PC Paul Grundy said: “I spent a month travelling around numerous areas photographing the graffiti and was able to find numerous instances of his 'tags' elsewhere in Altrincham, in the Metrolink corridor, in and around Old Trafford and the city centre.

“If Cartwright breaks the conditions of this order, he could be fined or jailed for up to five years so hopefully that will act as a major deterrent.”
