A SCOUT and guide band from Davyhulme played at the Olympic Park on August 10 and 11.

BBC presenter Clare Balding even tweeted a photo of the 3rd Davyhulme Scout and Guide Band, who were joined by five friends from Northants Scout Band.

The band greeted visitors at 7.30am and played at various times and locations throughout the day, including the stadium area for two hours during their longest stint.

Clare commented that the band were playing ‘Bare Necessities’, one of the reasons for this choice was that the band were due to play at Disneyland Paris on August 15.

The band also played at Manchester United’s Old Trafford ground for the Olympic matches.
