The Environment Agency gives people an extra month to comment on Barton Renewable Energy Plant, Davyhulme

THE Environment Agency has extended a consultation period on the controversial proposals for a biomass energy plant in Davyhulme.

The deadline has been extended by a month to August 15 to allow people to give their comments on its draft decision on issuing an environmental permit to Peel Energy.

Gordon Whitaker, environment manager for Greater Manchester, said: “Following consultation meetings we have taken the decision to extend the deadline in order to allow people to comment further. “ Comments should be sent to the Environment Agency, PSC - EP Team, Quadrant 2, 99 Parkway Avenue, Sheffield S9 9BS; or via email to psc@environment-agency.gov.uk.

Quote the reference number, EPR/SP3234HY/A001 on any correspondence.
