POLICE can confirm that the body found in a canal in Salford this morning is that of missing 22-year-old Christopher Brahney.

Shortly before 9.35am this morning, police received a report of a body in the Manchester Ship Canal, near to Media City, Salford Quays.

Christopher was last seen by friends at about 11.30pm on Friday, June 29, when he was at the Stone Roses concert in Heaton Park, Manchester.

A post mortem examination is due to take place tomorrow.

how sad, i was really hoping it wasn't Christopher, all he was doing was having some fun with friends,
RIP Christopher my thoughts are with your family and friends.
So very very sad.
