A CHARITY, the Children’s Adventure Farm Trust (CAFT), broke all records at its eighth annual ladies lunch at the Mere.

This year’s theme was Venetian Masquerade and the charity certainly didn’t disappoint with an event full of glamour, fun and, most importantly, fundraising - for terminally ill, disabled and disadvantaged children.

The event, attended by 435 women from all over the region, raised £40,000 - £14,000 more than last year.

Julie Gray, events and community fundraiser at Millington-based CAFT, was thrilled with the success of the event: “This was an amazing day, we really can’t thank all of our guests and contributors enough. To raise £40,000 was beyond our wildest dreams, we’re all totally blown away by the generosity of all concerned.”
