WITH the Olympics just around the corner, families across the country will be inspired to get fit.
And Stretford and Urmston MP Kate Green is offering one lucky family a head-start with a year’s membership of Trafford Leisure centres – for free!
Kate won the pass at a charity dinner – but wants to give it to a Messenger reader who takes the best photograph that illustrates either the benefits of living a healthy lifestyle or what this summer’s Olympics means to them – or both!
Kate said: “In this Olympic year I’m delighted to be running this competition in the Messenger. 12 months’ free gym membership is a fantastic prize and I hope lots of people across the constituency take part.”
Philippa Williamson, head of business support at Trafford Leisure Trust, said: “Trafford Community Leisure Trust is delighted to support the competition and in this Olympic year we are keen to ensure that anyone who is inspired by what they see on television, or the lucky few in person, have the opportunity to take part in regular sport or physical activity. Even if you are not successful in the competition, there are many activities and facilities available for the whole community and affordable by all’.
The photographs will be judged by Kate and Philippa and the shortlist will then be published in the Messenger with readers invited to vote for their favourite!
Entries can be sent via email kate.green.mp@ parliament.uk or twitter @KateGreenMP or to Kate Green, House of Commons, London, SW1A 0AA. Closing date for entries is Friday, July 13.
The prize is 12 month’s free membership at Trafford Community Leisure Trust facilities. Zest membership includes six gyms, five pools, and more than 100 aerobic classes per week.
The trust has a number of sites across the borough.
