Police and firefighters were called to Abington Road after a man threatened to set himself on fire.

POLICE were called to an incident on Abington Road, Sale, after a man threatened to set himself on fire.
Officers were called to the scene, close to Marsland Road, at 11.27am where they found a man making threats to set himself alight.
Firefighters were also called to support the police led incident but their services were not required.
It is believed the man has now been taken to hospital to be checked out.
