Marathon legend's race challenge

MARATHON legend Ron Hill has thrown down a challenge to the people of Manchester ahead of the We Love Manchester 10k - “Beat me and beat a Legend.”

The race takes place on Sunday, 24 June and will help raise money for the We Love Manchester charity.

Starting at the Regional Athletics Arena at Sport City, runners will race around the outside of the Etihad Stadium and the surrounding area before crossing the finish line back at Sport City.

Ron, a three time Olympian, is set to complete the 10k race in around 52 minutes and said: “I know I wont be the fastest runner taking part in this event but to really push the people of Manchester to get the best possible time they can, I’m setting them a challenge to see if they can beat me.”
