Trafford Housing Trust hosts professor’s book launch

AN EMINENT professor in community cohesion chose a recent visit to Trafford Housing Trust to launch his new book.
Professor Harris Beider officially launched his latest study in hardback – Race, Housing and Communities, Perspectives on Policy and Practice.
Professor Beider has worked closely with Trafford Housing Trust in the past on a community mentoring scheme to support people experiencing domestic violence in black and minority ethnic communities.
The two year project, which culminated in a conference into domestic violence in March 2008, explored issues such as forced marriage and honour violence.
Professor Beider said: “I am delighted that Trafford Housing Trust organised this event who are consistently trying to improve performance and be innovative in the areas of equality and diversity. The book itself attempts to develop new ideas and themes on race, communities and housing by engaging with both academics and researchers.”
