The award-winning student who puts others first
A 17-YEAR-old student who balances his catering studies alongside being a carer for family members has won a Rotary award.
Richard Rowe received Sale Rotary Club’s merit award at a dinner for 60 members and guests at Trafford College’s ‘Aspire’ restaurant in West Timperley.
The club’s president elect, James Eisen, said: “Richard has studied at Trafford College while fulfilling many family commitments - including being a carer for relatives who need continuous home support. He has balanced hospital visits with college attendance during what has been a particularly difficult time.
“But he has coped with this, put the needs of others ahead of his own, and applied himself with good humour and maturity far beyond his years.”
The award certificate was presented to Richard, from Newall Green, by club president John Taylor (pictured).
