TRAFFORD Housing Trust has been recognised at a regional award ceremony for introducing a ground-breaking customer service initiative.

The trust won the customer service award for its one-stop communications centre, the customer hub, at the Housing Excellence Awards on May 9.

The customer hub, introduced in January 2010, provides tenants with a simple-to-use information, advice and support service over the phone. The team is drawn from all parts of the business and has been able to improve the overall service of the trust, as well as dealing with the individual tenant issues that arise on a daily basis.

Matthew Gardiner, Trafford Housing Trust chief executive, said: “I am thrilled that we have been recognised with a Housing Excellence Award for the first time, and I would like to dedicate it to the members of our hub team who are providing this fantastic service.”
