Trafford schools enjoy Manchester United training day

PUPILS from Trafford specialist schools enjoyed a once-in-a-lifetime training session courtesy of Manchester United.

Brentwood School, Manor High School and Trafford College were invited to the Carrington training ground where they met first-team coach Rene Meulensteen and former Red Quinton Fortune.

The session began with team photos, handshakes and signed autographs, before the children were put through their paces to see how they compared to the professionals.

Steve Harcourt, disability officer for the Manchester United Foundation and manager of the Ability Counts football team said: “I hope to see some of these boys and girls training and playing with my team next season.”

The schools won the prize through their association with Didsbury organisation, Zeno Ltd.

The organisation attended the annual United for UNICEF gala dinner at Old Trafford last December where they won the prize following an exclusive auction.
