Bomb alert in Sale

RESIDENTS were evacuated after a suspicious package was found in a flat in Sale.

At 11.40am on Monday 30 April 2012, police were called to a house on Epsom Avenue, following reports of the discovery of a small suspicious package.

Officers and bomb disposal experts attended.

A small area close to the house has been evacuated and a 100 metre cordon has been set up.

No one has been injured and inquiries are ongoing.
