POLICE have released images of a man wanted in connection with two robberies in Sale.
At around 11pm on Monday 9 April 2012, a 22-year-old woman was walking along Ashton Lane in the direction of Washway Road when a man threatened her and demanded she gave him her phone.
Fearing for her safety, she gave him the phone and handbag before he ran off.
Ten minutes later, a 38-year-old man was walking along Washway Road with his nine-year-old son. They were approached by the same man and forced to hand over a phone.
The man is described as being white, in his early 20s, 6ft tall, of large build, had short blond hair, angular cheekbones and a tattoo on his neck. He wore a dark coloured top, dark blue three quarter length jeans and spoke with a local accent.
Detective Constable Amy Coleman said: “Thankfully, both were unhurt however, the incident has obviously left them shaken.
“It proves what kind of man the offender is by targeting a lone woman and a man with his young son and I would ask anyone who may have witnessed the robbery to contact us.
“I would urge people to take a good look at the image and if they recognise this man, please get in touch.”
