THE Greater Manchester Marathon is set to welcome more than 5,000 runners to Trafford on Sunday, April 29.
It is hoped the event will put the borough in the spotlight in the run up to the London 2012 Olympic Games.
Residents and motorists travelling in Trafford on the day of the marathon are asked to be aware of traffic measures being put into place to support the race between 6am and 6pm.
Traffic will only be travelling in the opposite direction to the flow of runners on the majority of roads being used.
