Football titans help sell-out city centre hotels

Manchester’s city centre was fit-to-bursting as Manchester United took on Liverpool at Old Trafford in February - with city centre hotels hitting 100 per cent occupancy.
It was the first time that the city’s central accommodation has been fully booked since daily records began in 2003. Even events such as the Take That tour in 2011 and the EUFA Cup final in 2008 did not see numbers as impressive.
It was also the same night which saw the Creative Creative Crafts show Eventcity and Bolton Wanderers face Wigan Athletic at the Reebok Stadium.
