Association celebrates 20th anniversary
THE TREES Residents & Tenants Association celebrated its 20 annivesary as an association working on behalf at local people.
The group reminisced as guests, including Tony Lloyd, MP for Manchester Central, and Stretford Councillor, Steve Adshead read an events board filled with news paper clippsings from yesteryear.
Rita Jones, Secretary of the group, said: “It was a great opportunity to be able to display the clippings we had saved of our achievements over the years.
“Our group is stronger than ever with a good committee and support from the residents on the estate and Trafford Housing Trust.”
Councillor Steve Ashead, a member of the association since its inception said: “I would like to pay tribue to Rita - I am not sure the assocatiation would be here now without her unending support.
“What this does is show that local people can and have made a real difference to their own community.”
