THE ALTRINCHAM Electric Railway Preservation Society is holding its last winter lecture in its 2011/12 series with a special ‘North West Film Archive Evening’, on Friday April 13.

It will feature historic footage of buses, aircraft, trains and trams from across the North West; including footage of the first day of the Manchester-Altrincham line’s electrification in 1931.

The lecture is at Altrincham Methodist Church Hall, Barrington Road and starts at 7.30pm. Admission is £3 with refreshments included. AERPS members can attend for free.
