A SALE photographer swept the board at the British Institute of Professional Photography (BIPP) North West Awards on Saturday.

Neil Redfern was awarded Gold, Silver and Bronze in the Classical Wedding Category, Gold & Bronze in the Creative Wedding category and Silver & Bronze in Reportage, and was also named Northwest Wedding Photographer of the Year.

Neil said: “I am absolutely delighted to have won awards across these different categories, and to win Northwest Wedding Photographer of the Year was the icing on the cake. The BIPP are one of the most prestigious photographic organisations in the country so I am delighted to have done so well in their North West awards”

Neil photographed his first wedding in 2005 and has since built his wedding photography business up year on year. Neil went full time in April 2010 due to the increased demand of his services. In January this year he was a speaker at the SWPP (Society of Wedding & Portrait Photographers) Convention, one of the largest photography conventions in Europe.

Neil, who successfully gained his Licentiateship qualification with the BIPP in 2010, continued: “The past couple of years have been fantastic for me and my wedding photography business. Since going full time in 2010 the business has gone from strength to strength and I can’t think of anything I would rather be doing. To photograph weddings and know that the images which I take will be looked back on for years to come, is truly an honour. Being named North West Wedding Photographer of the Year is more than I ever expected and I couldn’t be happier.”
