National Grid starts six months of work in Sale

NATIONAL Grid is spending nearly £380,000 on renewing gas mains in Sale.

Work in the area will begin in April and will take six months to complete as they replace 812 metres of old metal pipes.

Replaced by new plastic pipes, the fittings are expected to last for at least 80 years, providing gas on demand for generations to come.

The work comes as part of an £84 million package of improvements across 554km of gas mains across the North West.

The main roads affected in the area will be Chapel Road, Tatton Road and School Road.

The UK’s largest utility company have said they will use new technology to reduce the scale of road works where possible and will make sure that people affected by the work will be given more information before it begins
