Man has metal plates fitted in jaw following assault in Urmston

A MAN needed metal plates to be fitted in his jaw after he was punched twice in the face in an Urmston bar.

The 25-year-old victim was in the Boogie Piano Lounge, on Atkinson Road, when he got into a disagreement with another man.

The man, without warning, punched him twice in the face, shattering both sides of his jaw before leaving.

He was described as being white, in his early 20s, of stocky build and with a shaved head.

The victim suffered a double fracture to his jaw which has needed to have metal plates fitted as part of his treatment.

Detective Constable Lee Attenborough said: “This was an entirely unprovoked attack which has left the victim severely injured.”

Anyone with information about the incident, which happened at about 2.45am on March 24, is asked to call police on 0161 856 7671 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
