TV stolen during burglary at Flixton Cricket Club
11:28am Thursday 29th March 2012 in News
BURGLARS broke into Flixton Cricket Club and stole a television.
The break-in happened at about 12.30am on Saturday at the Lawrence Road club.
This was shortly after bar staff had locked up and left for the night.
The intruders got in by prising open a fire door. They then smashed glasses behind the bar and removed an empty till and smashed it on the ground to open it.
They then made their escape with a 40-inch Samsung flat screen TV.
No cash was stolen and the alarm was triggered. Secretary Irene Hardy said: “We lock up at midnight so I can only assume they were watching and waiting for staff to leave. I’m just glad none of them were caught up in what was happening.
“The building is well protected and we’re taking every precaution to make sure nothing like this happens again."
Anyone with any information should call 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
