THE fire service's new mascot Cracker the fire safety dog got his paws wet at the weekend, when he visited charity car washes across Greater Manchester.
The six-foot Labrador turned up at seven stations, including Sale, on Saturday to meet families and children during his first official public outing.
The mascot visited the stations where car washes were taking place in aid of The Fire Fighters’ Charity.
Car washes also took place at Altrincham, Stretford and other Greater Manchester stations.
Hundreds of people visited the events to raise thousands of pounds for the charity which provides care and support for serving and retired firefighters and their families.
