THE Greater Manchester Waste Disposal Authority (GMWDA) are urging people to dispose of their electrical waste more responsibly.
This round’s £53,000 GMWDA Community Fund will focus on supporting organisations which encourage people to recycle and re-use Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) rather than them ending up with general waste.
Approximately 6,000 tonnes of small electrical items have been disposed with in household bins across Greater Manchester.
Although the GMWDA are behind the reduction of WEEE waste, they will also consider recycling related projects for the fund.
Visit www.gmwda.gov.uk for more information on how to apply.
