HUNDREDS of people enjoyed a family fun day in Sale West last week.
Around 400 people went to Sale West Youth Centre on Newbury Avenue on Wednesday August 3, where the sun shone on a day of activities and games.
Organiser Irene Murphy, who works with three local primary schools - St Margaret Ward, The Firs and Woodheys - said the day was ‘brilliant’.
“It was a really great success, it was a nice sunny day and it all went really really well,” she said.
The fun day, which was repeated on August 10, was made possible after a group of parents successfully bid for a £1,700 grant from Irwell Valley Housing Association.
The money was used to provide some of the activities, which included family olympics, face painting, glitter tattoos, a football tournament and children’s sports games.
There were arts and crafts on offer, gardening and police and fire demonstrations.
