SEVEN Manchester businessmen - including four from Trafford - tackled a one-day, three-peak cycling challenge though the mountains of France.

Following part of the route of the 2011 Tour de France, the team - including James Whittaker and Mark Whittaker of Trafford’s Peel Holdings, and Andrew Russell and Gareth Russell of Trafford Park’s Russells Construction - completed the 109km mountain stage through the heart of the French Alps from Modane to Alpe d'Huez.

They were joined by Stephen Chicken and Andrew Waugh from 53N Property Investment Group in Bury and Jon Matthews of 5plus architect in Manchester.

And all seven finished in between 5.5 and 7.5 hours.

All have completed various charity cycle rides over the years, but joined forces in this instance for the personal challenge.
