TEACHERS and pupils dressed up as their favourite book characters at Sale’s St Ann’s Primary School.

Lessons at the school were taught in costumes for the day as part of their celebrations for Children’s Book Week.

The school also had a visit from Ollie the Owl, Trafford Council’s school meal mascot.

Headteacher Jane Brahney embraced the celebrations by dressing up as a witch, whilst staff and children got stuck into the event with costumes ranging from Horrid Henry to Angelina Ballerina, Oompa Loompas, and even a gruffalo.

Year 3 teacher Claire Lee, who was Snow White for the day, said the event was hugely successful.

“The children wrote their own stories and designed book covers and posters.

“It was a brilliant day, everybody took part and the children had a throughly enjoyable time.”
