Greater Manchester fire and rescue dog is back from Haiti

ECHO the Labrador has completed his quarantine period and returned home six months after being deployed to Haiti.

Along with handler Mike Dewar, the specialist search and rescue dog went to Haiti as part of an 11 strong team from Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service who had responded to the international call for assistance following the devestating earthquake that hit the country.

County fire officer Steve McGuirk said: “It gives us great pleasure to welcome Echo back home. I’m sure I will be joined in that sentiment by the team members who worked alongside Echo in Haiti.”
