AFTER three and a half weeks in hospital through a fall I am now disabled and have not yet fully recovered after six weeks out of hospital.

Staying at home and falling out of bed on to a fitted carpet is less hazardous than falling out of bed onto a concrete floor, resulting in serious injuries and sometimes death, as reported in the "Messenger".

Often frightened elderly patients need reassurance that when they make requests for help, they are not being made to feel a nuisance.
