Trafford General microbiologist shortlisted for assistant practitioner of the year award

A TRAFFORD General microbiologist has been shortlisted for a prestigious award.

Christine Coleclough has been selected as one of only six finalists out of almost 100 nominations in the NHS North West Assistant Practitioner of the Year competition.

Christine works with the biomedical scientists in the microbiology department, where she examines specimens for the presence of certain microorganisms that may cause infections.

Christine, 56, from Urmston, said: “I was absolutely flabbergasted to have been shortlisted."

The Assistant Practitioner Celebration, including the awards ceremony, is on March 24 at the Worsley Park Marriott Hotel and Country Club.
