A SALE councillor is calling for toilets in the town centre to be re-opened.
Cllr Jane Baugh says residents desperately need the loos on Hereford Street.
The Priory ward Labour councillor said: "They are in a very busy thoroughfare in the town centre and they are needed by all ages, especially mums with young children and the older generation.
"The toilets were always very well run but now have been closed for months.
"I am concerned that these toilets have been closed for so long and hope that the council is not planning on closing them permanently.
"I understand that there is some problem with the drains but the Council should really have sorted that out by now."
A Trafford Council spokesperson said: "Unfortunately we have had to close the public toilets on Hereford Street in Sale due to drainage problems.
"The council has tried to resolve the issue but investigations with United Utilities revealed a blockage in the main drain.
"We are in close contact with United Utilities to make sure the blockage is cleared a quickly as possible so that we can reopen the toilets. We apologise for any inconvenience caused."
