INTERNATIONAL fashion model Alex Leigh, is running a course aiming to turn a group of teenage girls from the Broomwood Estate, Timperley into “exquisite young ladies”.

A former Altrincham Grammar student, Alex has appeared as a cover model on Vogue, Cosmopolitan and Elle magazines, and was voted one of FHM’s 100 Sexiest Women of 2003.

She set up the Take Two Style School with her business partner Rachel Perera, a veteran model booker and PR manager for the fashion industry.

Alex told the Messenger that they will aim to teach the girls a set of style skills including, "lessons in hair and make-up, diet and nutrition advice, [and] etiquette and manners".

To deliver the course, which started last Monday, Take Two has joined up with G-Force, a registered charity that offers support, services and developmental opportunities to the communities of the Broomwood Estate and other South Trafford areas.

Rachel told the Messenger: "These days there are a lot of negative opinions about teenagers. The course aims to give them something to do that shows them how to build up their self-confidence."

Girls participating in the course will learn how to apply the perfect make-up, how to pose like Kate Moss and how to strut down the catwalk like Tyra Banks.

The eight week course will end with a grand finale catwalk show at Debenhams in Altrincham where the girls will be able to show off their new style.
