Teacher's delight as former pupil takes part in the BBC show So You Think You Can Dance

AN Altrincham-based dance teacher has spoken of her delight at one of her former students success in a top reality TV show.

Lynda Cardwell will travel to London at the weekend to watch Hale's Robbie White compete in the last eight of So You Think You Can Dance.

If the 21-year-old wins the competition, being screened by the BBC, he’ll walk away with a £100,000 cash prize and a part in a Broadway show.

Lynda taught Robbie from the age of six to 17 and she said he showed a great deal of promise from an early age.

“He was always talented - when he was with me he danced with the Northern Ballet Theatre and he danced with the Paris Opera Ballet,” she said.

Robbie was appearing in the Queen musical We Will Rock You in Stuttgart and he left the show to become a contestant in So You Think You Can Dance.

Lynda, the school’s principal, said everyone at the CTS is proud of Robbie’s achievements, including pupils who have never had the chance to meet him.
