Sale youngsters make a wish

CHILDREN from primary schools in Sale got creative and decided what their Christmas wishes were as part of an annual competition run by Sale Town Centre Partnership.

This year pupils were asked to design a bookmark and tell judges their Christmas wish to be in with the chance of winning prizes donated by Marks & Spencer, Wilkinsons and The Square Shopping Centre.

The winning wish was from Kirsty O’Brien from St Anne’s C of E Primary School: “I know nothing of hunger and pain and hope the world is the same.”

Fae-Taylor Manning from Springfield Primary won the bookmark competition with her design promoting the benefits of reading and will now have her bookmark made, with Kirsty’s wish on the reverse, and given out to 1000 school pupils in Sale. All the bookmark entries are on display in Sale Waterside until after Christmas.
