Urmston woman gets long-service award from Marks and Spencer

AN Urmston woman who has put in 25 years service with high street retailers M&S was given a long service award last week.

Kay Scanlan, who started with the retailer in 1984, was invited to a bash in London with other long-serving employees from across the country.

As well as enjoying a champagne reception, Kay received a watch to mark her milestone year with the brand.

Kay, who began her career as a sales assistant in Manchester, said: “I have really enjoyed working for Marks & Spencer and have made some very good friends during my time with the company. I’ve learned such a lot during that time and am pleased to be part of such a great team.”

As well as her commemorative gift, Kay was also treated to a night to remember, enjoying a West End Show and an overnight stay in a top London hotel.
