Firefighters rescue horse from the River Mersey

FIREFIGHTERS came to the rescue of a horse that was trapped on a river embankment in Carrington.
The fire service's water incident rescue boat was used to reach the animal, at the North Equestrian Riding Centre.
It was led to safety from the River Mersey on Monday morning.
The owner of the horse and a vet were in attendance at the incident.
