Pregnant dog found 200 miles from home

WHEN two Alsations went missing from Sale their owner did not expect one of them would miraculously be found almost 200 miles away in Wales.

Holly and Spencer went missing from Christopher Monks’ Thirsk Avenue home on January 29 but it was only last Tuesday that intrepid Holly, who is pregnant, was found by a dog warden in Cardiff.

Spencer, who is father to the unborn puppies and turned three last Saturday, is still missing.

Christopher described how the dogs, both of whom are microchipped, disappeared from his garden during the night and said mischevious Spencer knew how to unlatch the gate.

He said: “I got a call from a dog warden in Cardiff telling me he had Holly. He saw her wandering the streets, took her in and scanned her. Luckily as she is chipped he was able to trace her back to Sale. I had to go and fetch her which was a 12-hour round trip! We’ve no idea how she got there but she must have a story to tell!

“We’re still desperately searching for Spencer. There was talk of a sighting in Broadheath but when we looked we didn’t see him.”

This is not the first time Holly and Spencer have gone on their travels. Last September Spencer fell into the Bridgewater Canal in Sale after running off with his partner in crime.

Holly was found under a motorway bridge by Andrea McClements, the manager of the Society for Abandoned Animals, and later Spencer was found among reeds in the canal.

Firefighters used a raft to reach the bedraggled Alsation and put a catchpole on him to bring him to safety.

Spencer is black and tan and long-haired. If you see him please call 0161 283 8712 or 07843 915641.

This family have been told to secure their gate it has nothing to do with a clever dog enable to undo locks. Give me a break.
I know the last time they lost their dogs and the fire brigade were called out to rescue them they were told how to make their property secure. They didn't take the advice because they clearly don't care about their animals welfare. This dog was pregnant for gods sake, if it hadn't been found the pups wouldn't have survived on the street.
IRRESPONIBLE OWNERS AGAIN!!!!
