A VETERINARY nurse is attempting to conquer the countryside for charity.
Ellie Skeel, from the Sale branch and of Vetcare is aiming to raise money for guide dogs by participating in the gruelling Coniston Adventure Team Challenge together with colleagues Pulen Moodley, Karen Lord, Linda McNulty, Tim Crawford and James Kilmauray.
The event, on September 6 consists of testing challenges including hiking, cycling the trails of Grizedale Forest and climbing the Old Man of Coniston in the Lake District.
The effort aims to raise £2500 which will provide freedom, mobility and independence to blind and partially-sighted people.
Ellie, 27, from Altrincham, said: “We work closely with guide dogs events team and were very willing to help when they approached us about the challenge, especially as they do such an amazing job and their work changes peoples lives.”
Peter Emmet from Guide Dogs for the Blind, said “It costs £10 a day to support each guide dog partnership and every penny raised will make a life changing difference to blind and partially-sighted people.”
