New breast cancer unit coming to Manchester


A GROUNDBREAKING new breast cancer research unit is to be set up in Manchester.

Breakthrough Breast Cancer will dedicate around £4.7 million over five years to establish the unit, highlighting its commitment to creating a future free from the fear of breast cancer.

The Breakthrough Breast Cancer Research Unit at the University of Manchester, due to open in 2008, is one of three being launched across England and Scotland. It will be based within the Manchester Cancer Research Centre in the Paterson Institute for Cancer Research adjacent to the Christie Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
