A 'GREEDY' fraudster whose 'flash' lifestyle included £3,700 spent on dentistry got a kick in the teeth as top judges rejected his sentence appeal.

Dane Martin Fitzwater was convicted of one count of conspiracy to commit fraud by false representation and admitted two others.

The 34-year-old, of Hendham Drive, Altrincham, was locked up for six years at Manchester Crown Court on February 19.

One of his co-conspirators, Aqil Khan, had details of a number of legitimate credit and debit cards.

How he got that information was never revealed, Lady Justice Thirlwall told London's Appeal Court today.

Others involved in the plot arranged for Khan to buy goods and services over the telephone.

Items purchased included a BMW, motorcycles, a Rolex watch and expensive dental surgery.

Fitzwater had work worth £3,700 done on his teeth, including veneers, at a surgery in Altrincham.

None of the defrauded property was ever recovered and the least the plotters expected to gain from the conspiracy was £100,000.

Fitzwater was the 'driving force' behind it, said the judge who jailed him, and had encouraged his wife, Samantha Doyle, to get involved.

He was the 'organiser' and was 'giving orders' to Khan, who acted as 'fabricator'.

It was 'brazen criminality' committed 'for greed', with expensive watches, cars and veneers all suggesting a 'flash, criminal lifestyle'.

Doyle, 38, also of Hendham Drive, admitted taking part in one conspiracy and got a suspended jail term.

Khan, 30, of Watson Avenue, Manchester, admitted four counts of conspiracy to defraud and was handed three years.

Lawyers for Fitzwater argued his jail term was too tough, especially compared to what his co-conspirators got.

"We are quite satisfied that this sentence, though severe, was not manifestly excessive," concluded Lady Justice Thirlwall.

All the co-plotters pleaded guilty and were 'involved to a lesser extent' than Fitzwater.

'He was in charge, they were not', said the appeal judge, dismissing his sentence challenge.
