A NEW timetable for taking forward the masterplan that will govern how the region develops over the next two decades will go before Greater Manchester leaders next week.

A report on the publication and consultation schedule for the Greater Manchester Spatial Framework (GMSF) will be presented to the Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA) on Friday.

This will outline plans for the draft GMSF to be put before the GMCA for approval in October, before a 12-week consultation gets under way.

Consultation on the revised plan was put back after official estimates showed that the region’s population was due to grow more slowly than initially thought.

Greater Manchester’s lead for housing, homelessness and infrastructure, Paul Dennett, said: “The new timetable will give us the opportunity to make sure we are using the most up-to-date information and plan for the right number of homes for the city-region. We are committed to doing this work in the most open and transparent way possible.”
