A WORLD champion and Olympic medallist will be holding a free-to-attend gymnastics evening at Thornleigh Salesian College, Bolton on 22nd June, for ages 2-7.

Beth Tweddle MBE is bringing her Total Gymnastics Academies to Bolton next week with a free evening of gymnastics sessions.

The retired gymnast wants to encourage children to try something new, while offering the unique opportunity to experience its industry-leading gymnastics programme led by expert coaches, before they decide to join.

She said: "I’m so proud to be giving even more children the opportunity to experience gymnastics, where they can have fun and learn new skills like leadership, resilience and determination.

"There’s always a great energy at these events and I’m sure this one will be no different.

Tweddle’s company, Total Gymnastics Academies – which is in partnership and registered with British Gymnastics – delivers lessons to over 3,500 children a week in local schools and leisure centres across the UK.

Tweddle set up Total Gymnastics Academies in 2009, combining her expertise and enthusiasm for gymnastics into an outstanding programme, which is dedicated to teaching children the best techniques from first-class, quality coaches.

Tweddle was the first female gymnast from Great Britain to win a medal at the European Championships, World Championships, and Olympic Games.

She added: "I'm passionate about getting children involved with gymnastics and to experience the many benefits the sport has to offer, including improving health, wellbeing and overall confidence."
