ARMED robbers who held-up a supermarket at gun point have been captured on CCTV.

The two masked men were caught on camera when they robbed the Tesco store on Upper Chorlton Road, Old Trafford at around 8.40pm on Sunday, March 11.

The footage shows the two offenders, both wearing scarves to hide their faces, threatening customers with a knife and pointing a gun at a member of staff.

The armed robbers confronted a shop worker as he walked towards his car after leaving the Tesco store and ordered him to return to the store at gunpoint.

The colour footage shows the masked men ordering the staff member back in to the store and demanding that he open the tills.

The robbers can be seen on camera emptying the cash from the tills into a large black bag as they threaten customers and staff with a gun and a knife.

The robbers then fled in the direction of Tomlinson House on Upper Chorlton Road before police arrived on the scene.

One of the robbers is described as Asian, in his mid-30s and approximately 5ft 8ins tall.

The second man is described as mixed race, of skinny to average build and approximately 5ft 8ins tall.

Both of the armed robbers were wearing gloves and had their faces covered with scarves.

Detective Constable Clare Robinson, of GMP’s Trafford borough, said: “This will have been an incredibly scary incident for both the staff and customers of this store.

“No one should be made to fear for their life while carrying out their day to day shopping or while at their place of work.
