A NURSE practitioner in Timperley has been recognised for her work in diabetic treatment of patients.

Debbie Brayzier, who works at Timperley Medical Practice, was shortlisted in a category at the Greater Manchester Practice Nurse Awards.

In 2016, Debbie was asked to become one of two course leaders for the distance delivery of the Warwick University’s certificate in diabetes care, held at Warwick Medical School (WMS).

She was also trained in delivering the course to medical professionals from Trafford and has become an honorary clinical teaching fellow.

Debbie said: “It was a real honour to be shortlisted in any categories and to be a finalist in the Practice Nurse Awards. Thank you to everyone who has supported me.”

Dr Liz Clarke, clinical education and mental health boss for NHS Trafford clinical commissioning group said: “This is a thoroughly deserved recognition for Debbie. We are very pleased and very fortunate to have clinicians that are willing to develop their skillset and share that knowledge with their colleagues for the benefit of our patients in Trafford.”

The event was supported by all Greater Manchester CCGs and Greater Manchester Health and Social Care Partnership.
