GUESTS at a Las Vegas themed Ball raised almost £100,000 for local children’s charity, the Children’s Adventure Farm Trust.

On December 2, at the Mere Golf Resort & Spa, 300 guests were joined by patrons Noddy and Suzan Holder, John Thomson, Melanie Bishop and Catherine Kingston, for the charity's 20th annual ball.

The event opened in true Vegas style with dancing girls accompanying host Andy Ashworth to the dancefloor, before performing a show-stopping number with Elvis singing ‘Viva Las Vegas’.

The evening was filled with fun and fundraising including a Christmas cracker raffle which saw one lucky winner going away with an 18ct white gold and diamond necklace, donated by Randalls of Altrincham.

The charity was joined on the night by its sponsors, Titan Property Services, Roberts Bakery and Nationwide Vehicle Contracts, Next and Northern Belle who lent their support.

Coronation Street star Sally Carman was joined by fellow Shameless actor Aaron McCusker to draw the grand raffle which had a top prize of a luxury three night break at Ellenborough Park in the Costwolds, a trio of afternoon teas and a 4.5 litre bottle of whisky.

Prizes in the silent and live auctions, included a VIP trip to Chester Races donated by Stellar Group, the John Bishop experience donated by its patron and a once in a lifetime holiday to Vegas courtesy of long-term supporter Ian Eccles of Beechwood Travel.

Live music was provided by the Deadbeats and DJ Neil Bebbo rounded the evening.

Events fundraiser Pippa Watton said: “This was such a wonderful night, our guests really are the best. Our staff and volunteers work so hard on this event and its so rewarding for us all to see everyone having such a great time. Every year we are blown away by the generosity of our guests and this year was no exception. To raise almost £100,000 in just one night is astounding, we’re all still reeling. This money will make such a huge difference to the children visiting us here at the Adventure Farm and we can’t thank everyone enough for their unwavering support.”
