THE Trafford South Foodbank is set to receive “bags” of support from the Co-op as the retailer launches an appeal to spread some festive cheer to families in need and facing crisis in the community.

The Green Lane Co-op store is accepting donations to support the foodbank as it gears-up to support families through the winter months ahead.

The Foodbank relies on donations which are vital to its ability to give everyone referred to it a balanced and nutritious supply of essential food.

Items requested include: tinned fruit and vegetables, tinned meat and fish, vegetables, rice pudding, biscuits and custard along with tea, coffee, jam, toiletries and Christmas treats in time for the festive period.

Malik Ullah, Store Manager, said: “Working together we can help to make a difference to the lives of people locally who are facing difficulty and who need to turn to foodbanks for support this winter – we would like to say a huge thank you to members, customers and colleagues whose generous donations and support will make a big difference to people in need and families facing crisis within our community.”
