Tribute to councillor with great sense of humour
I WAS shocked and saddened to hear of the passing of Cllr Darren Whitehead during the early hours of Monday.
He was a fellow Hulton Ward councillor, and although we were elected in opposing parties we had a mutual respect for one another.
Darren was committed to his role serving his local constituents and was well loved in the area.
He was also committed to his charitable work in the community, about which he was very passionate.
I will remember Darren as someone with a great sense of humour — we often joked about keeping one another in check.
He will be terribly missed by his family, friends, constituents and colleagues at Bolton Council.
