THROUGHOUT November, the new 2017/18 bin collection calendar is being delivered door to door. The new calendars will start from 1 December.

Residents are being reminded to follow their current calendar until that date and put their bin out for collection as normal.

Every household in the borough should receive a printed calendar through the post by the end of November and it will also be available to view online at www.trafford.gov.uk/bincollections

Executive councillor for highways, parks and environmental services, Cllr John Reilly, said: “We want to thank residents for recycling and helping us achieve a recycling rate of over 60 per cent. It’s only with your assistance that we will continue to improve on what has been achieved in Trafford.”

The new bin collection calendar simply picks up where the old one left off – there are no changes to bin collection dates with the exception of the Christmas period.

Residents are being advised to check your calendar carefully to see when your bins will be collected between Christmas and the New Year.

Residents will also receive a roll of 52 compostable bags on their doorstep in November or December.

When they need more, they can order a new roll by getting in touch or by visiting the nearest council library to pick up another roll for free. Compostable bags will be available in libraries from November 13.

Anyone who needs more compostable bags or doesn’t yet have all three recycling bins – black, blue and green - can order them for free by visiting online at www.trafford.gov.uk/recycling or calling 03330 035865.

There is also information on the council’s website about what item goes in which bin and where residents can find their closest recycling centre.
