A FLOOD alert which was issued for areas in Warrington near the River Mersey tonight, Sunday, has been cancelled.
The Environment Agency had forecast that a high tide of around 5.2m would flow from Liverpool at 11pm and reach Fiddlers Ferry at midnight before affecting Eastford Road, Arpley Bridge and Kinsway North.
But the agency has now said 'the high tides are below flood alert levels'.
There may be other alerts issued near the Mersey Estuary between now and Wednesday.
