POLICE are searching the Bridgewater Canal for a missing 22-year-old man from Sale.

Caspar Blackburn was last seen at about 2:15am on October 1 at the Slug and Lettuce bar in Sale.
He has not been seen since and police and his family are becoming increasingly concerned about him.

He is described as white, 5ft 8in tall, and has short ginger hair and he was last seen wearing a blue polo shirt, blue jeans and brown, smart shoes.

Detective Inspector Carl Gilbert said: “Caspar has not been seen now since Sunday and this is completely out of character for him."

His friends have taken to Facebook to plea for him to come home, and missing posters have also been put up around the town.

His friend Billy Hayes wrote: "Urgent! Has anyone seen/ been in contact with Caspar Blackburn? He was on a night out on Saturday at the Waterside in Sale, he disappeared in the early hours.

"His car is outside his friend's house which has been there since Saturday (anyone who knows Caspar will know he doesn't like leaving his car anywhere). He's not been home and his mobile phone is off.

"No one has been able to get hold of him, his mum is worried sick.

"Anyone with any information on his whereabouts please message me! Share this post try and find where he is!"

Others shared the story with their own plea. One woman wrote: "praying so much, come on Casper just return home we love u boy."

Another said: "Oh God please no. Caspar Blackburn is missing - genuinely nice guy, was in the same form as him at school. Please please share. Come back safely Caspar!"
